Seychelles
Seychelles is a a group of islands located in the Indian Ocean. It is northeast of Madagascar. To the east, are the countries Kenya and Tanzania. Most scholars believe that the Arabs and the Maldives were the first to visit the islands. The first recordings of the islands were in 1502 when Portugese Admiral Vasco da Gama who sighted the islands while traveling through the Amirantes. While France and England were at war, French's colony Mauritius decided to colonize the islands northeast of Madagascar, Seychelles. After the Franch Revolution, the settlers decided to form a colonial assembly under Jean-Baptiste Queau de Quinssy. This became known as The Quincy Era. Quincy would later negotiate with the British and Seychelles would be under British rule. Seychelles would later gain its independence in 1964 Great Britain (UK). After Europe left, Seychelles would later be threatened multiple times from an Army mutiny.
